Q: I made a table very similar to this one, and I'm at a loss for what style of chair I should look for to match it. I love the industrial look but I don't want to overwhelm my dining area with it. Editor: Leave your suggestions for Morgan in the comments - thanks! Got a question? Email yours with pic attachments here.

Tucked within the house Candace shares with her hubby and two children in Hemnesberget, Norway is an adorable mini office hidden away in a secretary desk. 'We actually have a much larger office space in our home but we had an empty wall and a new desk that needed a home,' Candace explains. 'I can send all things I need to print over our network and pick it up in the other room. All items in this corner are from various market sales, my favourite second-hand shop, and fundraisers. Of course some things are new and have either come from IKEA or Åhléns. Tucked away in the top drawers are files, books/notebooks, and various projects. The bottom drawers home my fabrics and other paper goods for gifts and crafting.' A photo of the closed hutch after the break.... via BackGarage(Images: Candace).
AT:SF, We've been having such a hard time decorating our small living room in our 1023 sq. The first question I have is: What type of rug would look good here? Also, any suggestions on how to rearrange the furniture or decorating would be great. We have a 2 year old boy so the space would have to work for young kids.
We love the look of a rustic kitchen - and it's a style that's gained a great deal of popularity in recent years. What's interesting is that we're starting to see the emergence of something we're calling 'new rustic': kitchens that strike a balance between uber-minimal and country cozy. Above: An antique island adds a little texture to a modern kitchen from Svenngaarden. Exposed brick walls and a weathered island add rustic appeal to Julia's Atlanta kitchen. There are lots of rustic elements in this kitchen from Archello, but the lack of upper cabinets means that the space still feels airy and open. Wood drawers contrast wonderfully with a white background in this kitchen from VT Wonen. Wood, subway tile, and stainless steel come together in a kitchen from Bolig. The exposed beams and wood countertops add just the right amount of texture in this kitchen from Schoolhouse. Just a bit of wood cabinetry in a kitchen from The Style Files.
What stands between a 'Good' living room and a 'Great' one? A good living room, while perfectly serviceable isn't bad, it just isn't as awesome as it could be. A great living room draws people in, keeps them there, and leaves them happier than before. This won't be a checklist of furniture items or physical items you should add to a room; this is a list of the intangible qualities that distinguish a great living room from just a good one. A great living room.... Has a seating arrangement that encourage conversation and sparks stories. It feels like the heart of a room - emphasizing that people are more important than things. Has the perfect mix of art that complements the room's style, along with a healthy dose of negative space to give the eyes spots to rest. Is a living room where the designer takes bold chances - and isn't afraid to fail. The kind of room where someone goes out on a limb to try something new, not knowing if it'll work or not. Perhaps most importantly, a great living room feels like you. What would you add to this list of what makes for a great living room?
Name: Zemeer Location: Seattle, WA Division: United States What do you love about your bedroom?: I love my bedrooms to have dark walls. I particularly enjoy the way candlelight is muted against a matte black wall. It makes every night feel exotic and special, a very welcome retreat after long days spent with our newborn, toddler and menagerie of pets!
I never understood those people that had 'fun' doing math, but if you can relate it to home decor I totally get it. I had so much fun putting together a living room for under $1000 that I decided to do a bedroom as well. Not everyone may see your bedroom, but it's your retreat and shouldn't be forgotten. If you're into the eclectic modern boho look, this room can be all yours for $1,000, with a bit left over to buy yourself some fresh flowers. Like any kind of budget decorating, online classifieds, thrift shops, DIY projects and hand me downs are always a great way to save some money. If you're looking to start fresh or are not the DIY type, here's how you can create this look and stay in your budget. Spend the money on the things that are timeless or not as easy to replace and then accessorize.
Wall decor in a kid's room doesn't have to be all 'Cutesy' baby animals and Winnie the Pooh. Emily shared with us her fun nursery wall, where she took some of her favorite photos that her husband took and created a graphic photocollage of treasured memories and imagery. The side table was a DIY project with the help of some bright paint and paper stickers.
